CoEDiTAg Project Annual Meeting

How does the development of Digital Equipment and Technologies (EDiTs) contribute to the agroecological transition?

This is the theme that the CoEDiTAg project teams have been exploring for the past three years, as part of the PEPR AgroEcoNum programme. This project brings together researchers in economics, geography, management sciences and sociology, as well as agronomy and digital sciences. Their aim is to understand the co-evolution between the development trajectories of EDiTs and the transformation of structures, models and organisations within the agricultural sector.

From 22 to 24 June, the TETIS laboratory in Montpellier hosted the CoEDiTAg annual meeting. Among the project’s achievements are:

  • The formation of a new community bringing together a wide range of expertise within the social sciences;
  • The significant role played by early-career researchers in the project, and the inclusion of PhD and postdoctoral researchers from other teams;
  • Opportunities for disseminating findings in education, the agricultural sector, the political sphere, and internationally;
  • Significant scientific findings, including: research into intermediaries in the agricultural sector – a topic that has received little attention to date; an analysis of public policies on digitalisation; and a move beyond questions of EDiT adoption.

Thank you and congratulations to the project’s co-leaders, Pierre Labarthe and Isabelle Piot-Lepetit, as well as to the whole community for this annual meeting!
